The AI-powered Select Subject feature that Adobe demoed back in November has finally arrived in Photoshop CC! The feature was officially released just minutes ago in Photoshop CC version 19.1, which also includes the addition of a Decontamination slider to the Select and Mask workspace and some significant compatibility updates for Windows users.

Photoshop’s Select Subject tool isn’t new, but today’s update will make it much more useful to anyone working with photos of people. In the previous version of Photoshop, it won’t select subject inside the select and mask dialog box but in Photoshop 2021 it can select subject inside the dialog box of Select & Mask. The other way it finds your subject is based on sharpness. The sharpness of the elements within the photo will help Photoshop find your subject(s).
